The Confident Creator
I’ve been thinking a lot about being a full time creator. Why can some people do it and others struggle so much?
I think a lot of it comes down to confidence. The belief that not only can you do it, but YOU are the one to do it.
The belief that you’re destined. Not some law of attraction crap where you’re trying to convince yourself with positive affirmations. I’m talking about a real belief. A delusional belief.
It’s not easy being a full time creator.
One the one hand, you want to do it. But on the other you’re afraid.
What if it doesn’t work out?
What will you do for money?
How long will it take before the money starts rolling in?
What will my close friends and family think of me posting content? They know my private life.
There are so many thoughts going on in your head and it chips away at your confidence.
So you don’t create.
You consume. And consume. And consume.
You keep watching more YouTube videos about how to build a following. You watch other creators making money. You listen to different ways to do it and it all sounds the same but told in different ways.
You’re trying to convince yourself that now’s your time. That you CAN do it.
But you’re still holding back.
You post here and there but you know you’re not all-in. Something is holding you back and you can’t figure out what it is.
There’s a sense of fear. Fear of failure. Fear of the unknown.
I’m 100% convinced that you have to be delusional to make this work.
Being self employed is scary. You don’t know what retirement will be like. And over time you lose confidence when you don’t see results.
You have to be delusional.
You have to have the confidence that you’ll figure it out.
Not in a law of attraction way. You believe in a realistic way. You know that if you work 12 hour days on the right thing then it HAS to work.
You just have to figure out what that ‘right thing’ is. You can’t waste time.
If you have a job, you work before and after the job. You make time. If you don’t, you don’t want it bad enough.
Fear is holding you back. Delusional confidence will propel you forward.
